Christ fought the fight Of sin on our behalf; He won the battle over all its might. Christ bruised the head of Satan; He cursed the one who thought he won— Christ Jesus, our Lord, God’s Son. Christ bought the sinner from sin’s vice And from the power and grip of the evil one; All this Christ did by grace alone, For the love of those who loved Him not. Christ paid the price of sin With His blood, which like a river did flow; His grace that day, and evermore, did flood The hearts of the vilest man. Christ alone is enough; He is sufficient for all our needs, For He did rise from the dead— A victor over death’s dread. O grave, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting? This will be the song the sinner sings.
