At the final drawn breath, When this mortal frame Doth fail and the heart stop, Death begins—eternity is crowned. This day will come soon, Sooner than thou dost hope for; It will come like a thief in the night, And boldly take hold. Yea, death will come quickly; So behold, ye sinners, Christ crucified. For He alone is thy only anchor In the storm of death’s curse. No other can save thee From the bondage of sin; So come, ye slaves to sin— Be set free in Christ. The key of Heaven Is the gospel of grace; All who come and embrace it Will in Heaven have a place. There is no need To fear the woe of death, For Christ hath defeated it.
