The Scriptures
We believe in the verbal and complete inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, comprising the Old and New Testaments, as originally given. We believe that the Scriptures are the complete and final written revelation of God, infallible and inerrant, and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
Scripture quotations by the ministry are chiefly taken from the New American Standard Bible 1977 and 1995, and the Authorised (King James) Version 1769.
(1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
The Godhead
We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three co-equal and co-eternal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one in divine essence and substance, yet distinct in Person.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. We believe that He is truly God and truly Man, possessing perfect Deity and perfect humanity, and that He is the only Mediator between God and man.
We believe that He lived a sinless life, died upon the cross as a blood sacrifice and offering for our sins, was raised bodily from the dead, and ascended into Heaven, where He now exercises His High Priestly ministry on behalf of His people.
(Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1–2, 14; Galatians 4:4–5; Philippians 2:5–8; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:14–16)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the divine Person and work of the Holy Spirit. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement; regenerates the believing sinner; indwells every believer; and, having sealed the believer unto the day of redemption, works in him to produce holiness and Christlikeness.
(John 16:8–11; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 13:8–10; Ephesians 1:13–14; 4:30)
The Devil
We believe in the reality of the Devil, who was created by God but rebelled against Him. He is the adversary of God and His people and is actively opposed to the purposes of God. Though presently permitted to exercise his evil activity, he remains subject to the sovereign authority of God and will ultimately be cast into the lake of fire, there to suffer everlasting punishment.
(Isaiah 14:12–17; Ephesians 6:11–12; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 20:10)
Man
We believe that God created mankind, male and female, in His own image, equal in dignity and worth and complementary in their God-given roles. Through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world, bringing both physical and spiritual death.
Consequently, all mankind is fallen, sinful, and alienated from God and unable to save itself, and is therefore subject to the righteous judgement and condemnation of God.
(Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3, 12)
Salvation
We believe in the necessity and complete sufficiency of the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is wholly of God’s grace, received through faith alone in Christ alone, and not by human merit or works.
We believe that the Gospel is freely offered to all, and that whosoever will may come to Christ and receive eternal life. Each person is responsible before God for his response to the Gospel.
We believe that the believing sinner is justified freely by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ and that every true believer possesses eternal life and is eternally secure, being saved by the power of God.
(John 3:16; Romans 5:1–2; Ephesians 2:8–9; Hebrews 2:9; 1 Peter 1:4–5; 1 John 2:2)
The Church
We believe that the Church, which is the Body of Christ, consists of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that Christ alone is its Head.
We believe that a local church consists of a company of baptised believers gathered unto the name and under the headship of the Lord Jesus Christ for worship, fellowship, prayer, instruction in the Word of God, the breaking of bread, and the furtherance of the Gospel.
We believe in the autonomy of the local church under the authority of Christ and His Word; in the offices of elder and deacon; and in the gifts given by the risen Christ for the edification of His Church.
We believe in the priesthood of all believers and in their spiritual unity as members of the one Body of Christ.
(Acts 2:42; 14:23, 27; Romans 12:4–5; 1 Corinthians 12:12–13; Ephesians 4:11–12; Colossians 1:18; 1 Timothy 3:1–13; Titus 1:6–9; 1 Peter 2:5, 9)
Baptism
We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of those who have personally professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and a public testimony of the believer’s identification with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism does not impart salvation but follows salvation as the confession of the believer’s faith.
(Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41; 8:12; Romans 6:3–4)
The Lord’s Supper
We believe that believers should gather regularly on the first day of the week (Sunday), to break bread in remembrance of the Lord Jesus Christ and His death, proclaiming His death until He comes again. We believe that the bread and the cup are commemorative and symbolic and do not become the literal body and blood of Christ.
(Luke 22:14–20; Acts 2:42; 20:7; 1 Corinthians 11:23–30)
The Future State
We believe in the conscious existence of the individual after death and in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost. At death, the believer departs to be with Christ, awaiting the resurrection of the body. Those who die without Christ remain under judgement and will ultimately experience eternal, conscious punishment of their sins.
We believe in the everlasting blessedness of the redeemed in the presence of God and the everlasting punishment of the unredeemed.
(Matthew 25:46; Luke 16:19–31; John 5:28–29; Philippians 1:23; Revelation 20:11–15)
The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal, bodily, visible, imminent, premillennial, and pretribulational return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will descend from Heaven to receive His Church unto Himself, when the dead in Christ shall be raised and living believers shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air. This event will precede the seven-year period of Tribulation.
At the conclusion of the Tribulation, Christ will return visibly and gloriously to the earth with His saints, overthrow His enemies, and establish His literal millennial kingdom upon the earth for one thousand years.
(John 14:1–3; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Titus 2:13; Revelation 19:11–21; 20:1–6)
Christian Conduct
We believe that all believers are called to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age, presenting themselves wholly unto God and seeking to glorify Him in every aspect of life.
Believers are called to pursue holiness, practise godly self-discipline, abstain from sinful and worldly practices, maintain good works, and live in accordance with the teaching of Holy Scripture.
(Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 6:14–18; Titus 2:11–14; 1 Peter 1:15–16; 1 John 2:15–17)
