The Word Alone

Change the unconverted, conventional nature;
Reprove all the works of sin.
Make sinners wise unto holiness
By knowledge of righteousness.

Teach the foolish one wisdom;
Through faith, wise unto salvation.
Grant them knowledge of Thee
Through the wisdom of Holy Writ.

Speak to the hearts;
Obtain in them, O Lord,
Liberty to contain
As much wisdom as Thou givest.

Change the wicked heart
By the power of Thy Word;
Cause them to retain
Thy Holy Scriptures in mind.
