I cry unto God for comfort, Out of the depths of the ocean. Thou hast heard my cry for mercy, And provided me a way of peace. If Thou should record all my sins, I could not withstand Thy judgement; But Thou dost not record my transgressions, For love does not keep a record of wrongs. I know there is forgiveness with Thee, That Thou mayest be honoured and respected. Among men, my soul doth wait for Thee, Not long in the depths, for I have hope. Out of the depths of woe, Unto the mountains of joy, Thou hast placed me; Thy holy hill strengthens me. Praise unto Thee, O Christ, For Thou hast rescued me from the depths, And placed me on higher ground. Praise unto Thee, O Lord.
