Valentine’s Day often celebrates romance, yet Scripture directs us to a deeper, steadier love, one that flows from God Himself. The apostle Paul reminds us, “Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant.” (1 Corinthians 13:4)
This kind of love is not driven by feeling alone, but by character shaped through obedience and grace. Jesus set the standard when He said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” (John 13:34)
Whether married, single, or widowed, Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to reflect Christ’s love which is patient, sacrificial, and faithful. Let us reflect Christ’s live in our words and actions. When we love as He loved us, our relationships become a testimony to the gospel itself.
Prayer
Lord, teach us to love as You love; steadfast, pure, and selfless. May our lives reflect the love of Christ in every relationship.
Amen.
