Read Ephesians 2:8–10 carefully.
Questions
- Observation (v. 8): What is the source of salvation, and through what means is it received?
- Observation (v. 9): What basis for salvation does Paul exclude, and what human response does this exclusion prevent?
- Interpretation (v. 10): If salvation is not the result of works, why are good works important?
Answer Key
- Salvation comes by God’s grace and is received through faith. It does not originate in human effort.
- Paul excludes works as the basis of salvation, leaving no room for human boasting.
- Good works are not the cause of salvation but its intended result. Those saved by grace are God’s workmanship, newly created in Christ to walk in the works He prepared for them.
