Into this sin-stricken world I sprang I made my entrance helpless and weak, Naked I was born My mother clothe me with love, I brought nothing into the world And sure, will carry nothing out So, what is this gift called life? What is this body, but mere flesh and blood? Why was I born? What purpose, the time to fill? Is this life without meaning? Perhaps, no meaning at all? For in the midst of life, we are dying, Life, like a vapour, here one moment, gone in a heartbeat So, is all empty and vain? Not within, but higher than I A being greater than man The creator of you and I, God alone, the source, essence and sustainer, of flesh and soul, He alone is life’s meaning
